What is the following in red saying?

Does this mean "they are the first to talk about you to someone they think you should know."

(1) I most respectfully disagree with the logic of the original sentence. It says that

those excited people feel that there are some people whom you should know. It

seems to me to be more logical to say that those excited people want some other

people to know about you.

(a) Thus, it is only my humble opinion that the original sentence should read:

They get excited about your genius and are the first to talk you up to someone who

(they think) should know about your genius (so that s/he can help provide

opportunities for you to exercise your genius).

(b) For example, if you are a fantastic painter, I would say:

I am going to talk you up to some art collectors whom I know. (I want them to

know about you so that they buy your paintings. I am not interested in your knowing

them. That will come after I get those art collectors to meet you FIRST.)
