This is a sentence I read in a practice book of sentence patterns. I'm wondering whether "much" is correctly used here to modify "disappointed." Thanks in advance for your reply. Last edited by joycewhl; 09-Oct-2005 at 08:48.

I think it's correct also~ Actually "much" is to modify the adjective/ adverbs, so "much " this word is a adverb here~ The use of this word here is to emphasize how disappointed she was. Maybe you're confused and I suggest you can read it as this way, change a bit into "She seems to be much disappointed than she expected." Hope it can help you. Good Day~

'Very' would sound more natural, though.
