    Default to make for herself.

    Cher's got attitude
    about high school boys.
    It's a personal choice
    every woman has got
    to make for herself.

    What does "make for" mean?

    What does "make for" mean?
It's not "make for" + "herself", where "herself" means "personally". It's "to make" + "for herself".

If you make a decision or a choice "for yourself" it means that you don't involve anyone else in the final decision or the final choice.

You have ten cakes to choose from. I can tell you the difference between them and I can tell you which one I think is the best, but in the end it's a decision you have to make for yourself.
