Dear teachers,
I find a sentence from Warren Buffet Speaks (I'm in the middle of reading it) which is quite confusing for me, especially the highlighted words:
Warren eventually abandoned Conservative politics:“I became a Democrat basically because I felt the Democrats were closer by a considerable margin to what I felt in the early ’60s about civil rights.”
Would you please paraphrase the complete sentence also, so I could grab the exact meaning. Thanks indeed,
selviya87
He felt that the ideas of the Democratic Party were much closer than those of the Republican Party to his position on civil rights in the early 1960s.
Selviya, for the THIRD TIME . . .
. . .you grasp the meaning - not grab it.
Do pay attention!
