    I dont know what them eyes was the windows to and I guess I’d as soon not know.

    That sentence is an attempt to portray some form of dialect. More natural English might be:

    I don't know what those eyes were windows to, and I guess that I would sooner/rather not know.

    The speaker had in mind the expression, "The eyes are windows to the soul".

    ONLY A NON-TEACHER'S OPINION


    (1) Thank you for asking about "as," my second favorite word in English.

    (2) As Teacher Fivejedjon said, "(just) as soon" = rather, more gladly.

    (3) I found this sentence in a book written by a great grammarian named

    George O. Curme:

    I would just as soon stay at home as go.

    (a) So it is my only my guess that your sentence is a short way to say:

    ...and I guess I would just as soon not know as [I would] know.

    In other words: I would more gladly NOT know than I would gladly know.

    (P.S. Credit to Professors House and Harman for explaining to us ordinary

    speakers that "rather" = gladly.)
