    Default Translations help

In one best-selling translation, Odysseus is introduced in the opening lines as a “man of many turns,” while in another this description is rendered as a “man skilled in all ways of contending.”

What to you is the distinction(s) between these two options, particularly with regards to your reception of Odysseus’ character?

You received an appropriate response. This is a language forum, not one of literary analysis.. As it is a language forum, we ask people to use capital letters where appropiate - for the first person pronoun and the first word in a sentence, for example.

In any case, if you wanted further answers, you should have bumped your original thread. Two threads on the same question can lead to confusing answers.
