    Default turbulent and stem

    Hello guys,

Please help me understand the use of these two words.

    Thank you in advance

    1. turbulent:

EX: Toby definitely had turbulent week. Not only that he called off his wedding, but he also got reprimended from his work.

    2. Stem : Originated from : verb

EX: Jo's inability to work well with others stemmed from her stubbornness and ego.

2.1: to stop something that is spreading

EX: It Gets Better campaign was promoted to stem the rise of suicide in gay and lesbain community.

    1. turbulent: To move violently

EX: Toby definitely had a turbulent week. Not only that had he called off his wedding, but he also got reprimended remaindered from at his work. As a matter of style, I would not use "his" since it is apparent that it is his work.

The turbulent winds caused the airplane to crash.
Her turbulent temper made others stay away from her.
It was a turbulent week in the financial markets.

Firstly, thank you for your response.

If you say that turbulence means moving violently.

Can it be used to describe the action of human being? For instance, she just gave me turbulent hand shake or he gave me turbulent hug.

If not, what other words would you suggest?

. . .she just gave me turbulent hand shake or he gave me turbulent hug.
    'Turbulent' doesn't work like that.

    '. . .a vigorous handshake' '. . .a crushing hug.'
