Drain Out Suppose a barrel filled water has a valve.
"I opened the valve to drain the water."
"I opened the valve to drain out the water."
How are "drain" and "drain out" different?

Re: Drain Out They mean the same thing. The "out" is not wrong, but not necessary either.
