    Default implements

    Hey!
Got a technical text to translate.
The text describes different gadgets to work on the main device.
What is the best way to name those things in general:
    1. fixtures and jigs (found in an old U.S. book on drawing)
    2. tools (theya are not exactly tools as I see them)
    3. implements (well, what do you say?)

    Thanks

    not a teacher

    The text is about software?
Gadgets are usually physical devices, e.g. small tools with USB to store data or add bluetooth to your PC. Smartphones are also often referred to as gadgets.
Widgets or apps is an expression you will often hear for small software tools these days.
P.S.: If you are describing a single software product, whose function are implemented in sub-modules, I'd use tools.

Thanks a ton, but this time its a physical object rather than software.

I see. Could you please explain further what you mean by:
"The text describes different gadgets to work on the main device."?
I read it as like "the gadgets are compatible with a specific system to work on sth", but now I get it as "work on on" (in this context) means the gadgets physically change the form of the device. I think the latter meaning is the one you are referring to.

It's like there is the main (relief one-time action) valve, and there are gadgets to serve the valve (adjust its spring and action, replace the gasket etc.). So, these things need to be named in general and I'll have to have headings in drawings, like: "Implement to Adjust the Spring". In this case "tool" would be better than "implement", I guess. But there is a number of such tools... Well, may be "tools" is ok to name them all in general...
    Need advice!

I think "tools" is the best word. "Fixtures" and "jigs" are used for holding something that is being worked on. Tools are used to adjust or modify a part.
