    Default Even if

Hi, it's been a long time since the last time I posted in this forum :).
Please help me as you guys always did.

"I use it all the time to check if my phrases or sentences are right or not or even if it's formal or informal."
    (I'm referring to google)

My friends say that the word "even" seems out of place.
Can you please tell me if it is true?

    Thanks in advance.

It's fine, but I would put a comma after "not."

Thanks for your quick reply. This is not that of a big problem but we did fight a lot over this. And here is my friend's question:

    Is it better?
"or even to see if it's formal or informal"

P/s: Actually the sentence was written in 2 lines so I didn't use comma.

This is a very conversational type of sentence, not formal at all. I said it was OK because it is understandable. And "even" is definitely not out of place.

Adding another verb "to see" may help. It doesn't hurt.

Since your original subject is plural, you should really use "...even if they're formal or informal."
