As we know we can use 'today' with past tense...For example,

Why Didn't you come to work today?

My question is:Do all the past tenses contain this? For example,

Now It is about 10 pm. and John had homework that he needed to do.But He hasn't done it yet.And

Chriss:You should have finished your homework today?Why Didn't you do it today?

or

You had to finish your homework today?Why Didn't you do it today?

or

You were going to finish your homework today?Why Didn't you do it today?

Can we use like that?Thanks..

Please note that we leave a space after punctuation marks.

Is it also ok to 'this week , this summer, this year....' ?

We have a company and we haven't earned enough money for this year yet and,

We should have worked and sold enough products this year and I want to ask why you couldn't it.

Note:'should have+ v3' is used for past form but we can use for 'today, this summer,....etc' in this situation , is that right?

We can think of these words as denoting a past time within the overall time-period, as if we had added 'earlier' before the time-words.
