What inversion can we have for the underlined clause?
1)SUBJECT OPERATOR INVERSION
"the more business will the enterprises in that economy do"
2)SUBJECT VERB INVERSION
" the more business will do the enterprises in that economy
Or both are not the choices?
They both work for me. I suspect 1 is more common in speech and 2 is more common in writing, as intonation makes it easier to parse - recognizing the link between 'more business', 'enterprises', and 'do'.
