"It did everything I could imagine a computer doing."
I can't seem to get my head around the usage of the gerund "doing" in the above sentence.
Below is what I rephrased the sentence and it seems more logical to me.
But I don't know whether it's actually correct though.
"It did everything I could imagine a computer could do."
I am pretty sure the first sentence is right since I found it from an editorial.
Could anyone then help me parse it?

"It did everything I could imagine a computer doing" is a valid sentence.
"It did everything I imagined a computer could do" is also a possibility.
