I was doing this assignment in class where we had to make a chart of the first two Hamlet soliloquies. We had to find the contents of the sililoqy, the characteristic of Hamlet, and the Imagery and Figurative language. Now we have write a comparison essay, providing a thesis more than state that you are comparing the 2 soliloquies. Can anyone help me out what I can use for the thesis.
It should just be a short clear statement of your ideas that you are going to develop in your essay. What's your basic idea here?

Well in my essay I am basically going to be comparing and stating the imagery and firgurative language of each soliloquy such as alliteration and metaphors. Shakespeare uses many imagery and figurative languages in his soliloquies, is that a thesis? or is there a better one out there.Originally Posted by tdol
It depends- I'd look at why he's using such language and what effect is has on the spectator/reader.
