Question#1: About 'showing', is it a gerund like 'parenting' in front? Or is it a reduced adverbial clause?
Question#2: About 'to yourself', is it a part of 'show X to Y' as in that of, say, 'show it to me'? Or is it a modifier of the series of nouns described in front (i.e the patience, encouragement, and kindness)? Or is it a modifier of (the) kindness only?
