I have studied that the present simple tense use is for the permenant situations so,

1.

Messi plays football in Barcelona.( Permenant situation)

Messi is playing football in Barcelona.(current situation)

Which one is correct and why, They are confusing me.

2.

I work in a big company. (permenat situation)

I am working in a big company. (current situation)

which one is correct ,however, right now I work in that company and I go to work daily.


what are the permenant situations?

One of the present simple tense use is narrations so if I say;

John visits his friend and is amazed he is playing chess with his dog, He watches the game for a while the leaves.


It is a narration of a story if I used past simple can be siutable or in such cases can't be.

They can both be correct. He plays there all the time, and he is playing there now. We could also say, "He plays in Barcelona, but he is playing in Madrid this month". By the way, if 'Barcelona' is the name of the team, then he plays for it.

The past simple is the one we would expect in your last example.
