What does the "long ball" mean? Does it mean "a long pass"? Yes - a kick from defence going a long way upfield.
2.
Does introduced mean "happen, occur"? No. Adams had come on as a substitute after Blake's injury.
3.
What does "free Bale down the right flank"? Bale got the ball and had space to run with it down the right wing.
