I just came across this grammar question about present perfect tense. Here it is:
I called Peter this morning, but he ____ to Los Angeles.
The answer is "has gone". I'm wondering if it is correct to use "had gone" in this context, since the action "go" occurred before "call" in the preceding clause "call." Does "has gone" imply the fact that Peter has left for Los Angeles and he is no longer here at the moment the person is speaking? Thanks![]()
