I was reading some novel and found this:
a. "He hope to stay here for a few weeks yet."
What does "yet" mean? If I wrote:
b. "He hope to stay here for a few weeks."
How is b. different from a.?
]It has the idea of "He hopes/hoped to stay for a few more weeks." It does not sound very natural to me.
So, "yet" = "more"
In the appropriate context.
