Both are OK. The second may be "stiff" but OK if you are speaking about a fact.
Second,
If there are two things I can't stand. How can I connect the two? I can't stand rude people and rainy weather.
Is "nor that" a possible option like I used below? No. See below.
"I can't stand that my emotions are always trampled on and taken as a symptom of my mental illness, nor that and that my parents have to go through such a misery because of me."
Lastly, could anyone please tell me how the whole sentence looks in terms of its structure and grammar? It's OK w/revisions.
