Default Is this a right sentence

My dear teachers, your help is needed here again.

The idiom "Like father, like son" well applies to Tom and his son , because his son resembles him in many ways.

Is this a good sentence? Is apply to fit here?

Thanks a lot! I am right here waiting for your answer.

Is this a good sentence? Is does 'apply to' fit here?
It's fine, but 'well' doesn't work. If you want to have the 'well' idea, then you need to say something like: 'The idiom "Like father, like son" is very/particularly appropriate with Tom and his son , because his son resembles him in many ways.'
