Come on, PhiI. We got time to get a good
two hours of skiing IN before dinner.
What "in" means here?
The in is part of the phrasal verb get in.What does "in" mean here?
He could have said 'We have time to get in a good two hours of skiing. . .' meaning 'We have time for a good two hours. . . .'
Rover
As Rover said, it's part of "get in". He means they have time to do two hours of skiing. Here are a couple more examples:
- It's 2 o'clock. Come on, it's time to go home.
- But I'm not ready. I'm enjoying being at the swimming pool.
- OK, you can have 15 more minutes.
- Great. I can get in another 10 lengths of the pool in that time.
- I had to write four reports by 3pm today. It's only 2pm and I've finished them all. I can probably get another two in before 3pm!
thanks guys!
