Hello,
Here are the lines from one of my students' comments about Steve Jobs' death:
Apple has lost a visionary and a creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing person. Humanity has lost an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could build, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
RIP Steve.
My question is about 'humanity' vs 'mankind'. I lean more to 'mankind', but find it difficult to explain.
Could you share your opinions please?
Thank you for the time and help.
Some people prefer humanity as it avoids the possibility of sexism in mankind. I also think that humanity can be used with a more emotional or social connotation than mankind. There's also humankind.
