    Default Pepsi

    Dear teachers,

In the paragraph below, what does the author mean by "describe it's clout with supplier, retailer, and customers".

"What followed was an impassioned plea for the “Power of One”. That is how Pepsi describes its clout with suppliers, retailers and customers, thanks to its ability to market and distribute several of its brands together."

Please help me understand the paragraph. Thank you.

    Hello
Have you read the entire article from The Economist or did you stop when you got to this paragraph? I'll assume you stopped at the end of the paragraph.
The article is about the value (to it's shareholders) of PepsiCo remaining as one company and not dividing into two (one a drinks manufacturer and the other a snacks manufacturer).
According to the boss of the company, PepsiCo's dominance, power and influence with its suppliers, retailers and customers is due to its being one entity, not one company of two divisions.
Is it clearer for you now?
    John

Note that there should be no apostrophe in "describe it's clout"; if there is one in the original, it is a mistake.
