Could you tell me what english people usually answer in an email if the other person wrote "nice to hear from you"? Do you say "nice to hear from YOU" or "to hear from you too" in the next email or just nothing? Is it unpolite to say nothing?

It's not impolite to say nothing. I use 'nice to hear from you' when someone emails me after a long time witholut contact. I don't think there's a need to reply to the phrase- replying to the email is doing that. However, there's nothing wrong with 'nice to hear from you too'.![]()
