This is a homework assignment I have just received, and I am not sure about the word 'prepayment'. Is it possible to change it for the word 'deposit'?

I have never had problems with EX90 Electronics. However, I recieved a package from you yesterday and was unpleasently surprised because of its content. No seriously, are you kidding? Just because of your negligent employees my boss reduced MY salary! It was a very important deal for me. What now? Now you'd better return the prepayment and compensate the damage you caused to me. Otherwise i'll get my money in the court. Hope we will understand each other.

It depends. "Prepayment" usually means that the full amount was paid in advance. A "deposit" is normally a percentage of the full payment, maybe a 10% deposit to secure an item or a reservation).
