    Arrow On Something

    "A report of/on the accident will be ready soon."
    "What does a timeline on/of a foreclosure look like?"

    Could both prepositions give the identical meanings to the reader?

    Not necesssarily.

    A report of the accident might just be a notifcation that the accident occurred.

    A report on the accident will give full details of the accident, and possibly of any consequent actions.
