Hi, everybody!
I have a question, maybe a foo question.
I'd like to teach my students some parts of body
And I'm not sure about an especific part, it's butt, ass, buttock or bottom.
My questions are: What is the real difference between these different words?
I saw in a dictionary another way of to say it: "bum" Is it correct?![]()
Anatomical terms: buttocks (you have 2 of these, one on each side!)
posterior
bottom
Informal terms: bum (BrE only)
butt (AmE)
ass (AmE)
fanny (AmE ONLY - note that in BrE this word means a very different part of a woman's anatomy)
tush (pronounced like "bush" - more AmE)
Slightly ruder term: arse (BrE)
thank you! It was very nice, and now I'm not afraid, because I can teach right![]()
