    Default Aimed/aiming

    Dear teacher,

"This week it presented four new models, aimed chiefly at aspiring, fun-loving youngsters in emerging markets" could you please help explain why use aimed not aiming? Thank you.

If you consider that the comma replaces the words which I have underlined, you will see that "aimed" is the correct choice.

I think it's possible, if you think of the implied subject of the active participle 'aiming' as 'it', presumably a company.

    Very true, oops!

It was aiming its products at that market.
