Try to avoid using 'get' as an auxillary verb in formal work - it might be OK once you're more used to it. Perhaps you can see the difference if you had written "where they will get sheltered." - not as good in an essay.
2. In the end They either end up getting paid an equivalent of a few dollars per hour, or they don't get paid at all.
"In the end, they end up ..."? When else could it happen?
3. Mr. White chose contrast essay as a form of essay type.
