    Default as, because, for

    1. He needs to rush back home as his mum is not feeling well.
    2. He needs to rush back home because his mum is not feeling well.
    3. He needs to rush back home for his mum is not feeling well.
    .................................................. .................................................. ......................................
a, Are the above sentences the same in meanings?
    b. If not, what are the differences?

    Thank you.

1 and 2 have little if any difference in meaning - more of register. 3 is, to my ear, rather archaic.

And you could also say He needs to rush back home since his mum is not feeling well.

There is more a difference of register than a difference in meaning. I would say 'I like spending time in the forum because meanings interest me'. I might write 'As I am interested in semantics, I enjoy frequenting the forum'. The meanings are near enough identical (the causality - interest => time spent - is the same , but the degree of formality is different.
