The church has been built since 1866.
Is the above sentence acceptable?
You will probably hear this, but
The church was built in 1866.
The church has been here since 1866.

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
With older buildings, the word 'founded' is often used: 'The church was founded in the 17th century, but the bell-tower was not built until 1866.
