    Default about "a"

    Saturday is a working day.
Saturday is half working day. In this sentence, is there a need of "a"
Saturday is a half working day. or
Saturday is half a working day. or
    Saturday is half-working day.
Half an hour, likewise, can we say?
Half day or Half a day or Half-day
    Thank you.

We work half a day (or "a half day") on Saturday.

I have never heard something described as a "half-working day." If you have to get out of bed and go to work it is a working day.
