    Dear teachers,
Has the comma been used correctly in the following headline? If yes, what is its function?
    EU, Still Iran's Trade Partner
    Thanks

There are three things (and probably more) you should never look to for good English.

    They are:

    • song lyrics
    • newspaper headlines
    • TV series

In your example, the comma is used to create a pause after "EU". It serves no purpose other than to create the illusion that if spoken, there might be a period after European Union.

    • So true. I would add: blogs, text messages, and an enormous numbers of things you find on the internet.
