Dear Native Speakers,
Is the passive of the following sentence "They have been trying to build that house" this sentence: "That house has been being tried to build"or "That house has been being tried to be built"?
Thanks.
Don't try to make this sentence in the passive.
They built the house. The house was built by them.
They are buildnig the house. The house is being built by them.
They are trying to build the house. To build the house is being attempted by them -- This is horrible!
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
