Higher education forms fundamentals of countries. The developed countries such as, USA, England and Germany have excellent higher educational systems, and that’s why these countries have been governing the world for many years. As for, the higher education in Turkey, which is an developing country, cannot be compared with developed countries’ higher educational systems, needing comprehensive reforms. The need for reform in the Turkish higher education stems from that: the requirements of population cannot be fulfilled by the current higher educational system, students getting education at higher educational institutions don’t gain necessary qualifications, and the current higher educational system has some significant flaws which must be corrected instantly.
