Dear teachers, could you make it clear to me if one can use "bother" when speaking about pain caused to one's body both in British and American EnglishOr only in American English?
E.g.
He said his stomach was bothering him.
Thank you in advance.
P.S. The problem is I can't find this particular meaning of "bother" (related to physical pain) in British dictionaries (in Webster, which is mostly American, this meaning exists).
It can have that meaning in BrE.
Maybe they think that the trouble, which we can also use with this meaning, covers it and that it didn't justify a separate meaning.
Thank you!
