1-The computer in each of those rooms is new.
2-The computers in each of those rooms are new.
3-The computer in all of those rooms is new.
4-The computers in all of those rooms are new.
Which ones should one use if there is only one computer in each room?
Not a teacher.
1, 2, and 4 are grammatical. If you want to stress that there's one computer in each room, I'd go with sentence one.
Sentences 1 and 3 are likely to be ungrammatical because one computer generally fits only into one room. The way it is stated makes it sound as though it is in multiple rooms.
Thanks a lot Jahildebrand,
I think there is a typo in your answer. In the first line you say "1" is grammatical and in the second you say it isn't.
Gratefully

No problem. When I was making my post I had a blonde moment and briefly thought that sentence one was ungrammatical for the same reason as number three. With logic though, the sentence makes sense.
I guess it's best describable by saying that it's able to be misinterpreted if one isn't paying attention, but that the sentence does make sense.
