    Default taking the time

Someone wants to tank their teacher at the end of their letter for spending time to read their writing. Which of these are better? or maybe you have another good option.
    1. Thank you for taking time.
    2. Thank you for taking the time.
    3. Thank you for spending your time.
    4. Thank you for taking your time.
    etc.

    Two options:

Thank you for taking the time to read my xxxx.

I appreciate your taking the time to read my xxxx.

Please see my amendments in red.

I agree with John. Paris. My preferred option is 2 - Thank you for taking the time to ...

Note that "Thank you for taking the time" is not a complete sentence. You need to say afterwards what the person took the time to do.

Thank you for taking the time to read my piece of writing.
Thank you for taking the time to read my essay.
Thank you for taking the time to read my article.

    Dear teacher emsr2d2,
I really appreciate your being precise. I've got really good points out of your amendments.
However I don't know why "Which of these are better?" is one of your amendments.
    Thanks,

If you wanted us to choose one from your list then "Which one of these is [the] best?"
If you wanted us to put your statements in order of "correctness", then "Are any of these better than the others?"

When you say "better", you're asking for a comparison so we need to know "better than what".
