I am writing to express my interests in doing a part of my research work in the Systematics and Biodiversity laboratory at the X. I am currently studying 4th year in the biology faculty at the X. I am planning to become a specialist in the ecological genetics.
This field of genetics is only getting popular in Russia. The fundamental research projects in Ecological Genetics Laboratory in our university is a phylogenetic analysis of bioindicator organism for testing water quality. Driven with the passion for ecological genetics, I specialized in it for my research work as well as for my final year project, entitled “The use of bioindicators to determine the environmental health quality”. This is a new, perspective area of research and researches in this field like as a pioneers. I am the part of this team. I am responsible for building phylogenetic trees and molecular genetic analysis.
The opportunity of exchange program with the X filled me with enthusiasm to make collaboration with the researches of Biodiversity and Systematics laboratory. The reason why I have chosen to make my research in the X is the excellent reputation of this university and his scientific collaboration with our university. The high developed laboratory with advanced equipment and excellent facilities allows me to make the practical part of course work. I will have opportunities to meet professional scientist, offering me different points of view to the further research in the field of ecological genetics. In additional, this program would give me an opportunity to make use of my extensive background in languages and cultural studies.
I am convinced that a participating in an exchange program with the X would enhance my academic knowledge and research experience. I believe that the contents of the program match perfectly my academic expectations.
