'to ease up on something'? Hi,
Could anyone please help me understand this phrasal verb? Has it got the same meaning as 'to go steady on something'?

Re: 'to ease up on something'? Say you're driving your car and you've got the accelerator (gas pedal) the whole way down. You are making the machine work as hard as it can.
If you "ease up" on the pedal, then you are being less demanding.
By analogy, to "ease up" is to put less urgency or pressure on someone or something.
