Not really - what information do you want to convey?
That's fine. The 'some' tells us that the figure is not precise.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
And when I saw the subject line I thought you were talking about an informal use of 'so', to give an approximate size. But the 'so' points to a gesture, which makes '30 metres' a bit inappropriate!. But in a shop, say, you might say 'I want one about so big' (which only makes sense if it's accompanied by a gesture).
