    Please set me clear on the following in red.

    It's easy to blame interaction problems on others. After all, you're the good guy in these dynamics; why don't they get it? One of the most difficult challenges for aspiring leaders is to "own their stuff"---to acknowledge that they are equally responsible for relationship shortcomings.

    I have understood the above as saying "I'm the good guy in these interactions (relations). The problem is that they don't understand me or my intention. I don't know why they don't understand me." Is this correct?

    Yes, here "why don't they get it" means "why don't they understand".

    And in the last few years 'not getting it' has become extended to mean 'failing to understand the whole range of issues regarded as important by People Like Us' - as in 'Bush - he just didn't get it did he?'

    But in this case the meaning is just 'why don't they understand?'
