Would you take a look at the following?

1. There are a lot of things in the world you just think you know but which you really don't know.

#1 is a model answer for a translation question from Japanese to English.

Here is my answer:

2. In the world, there are a lot of things you really don't know although you simply believe you know them.

Is #2 understandable? If so, do both have almost the same meaning?

I'm assuming that writing improvements for you is not going to help, because you're asking whether your already submitted answer is correct.
I think they are close enough in meaning for your translation to be called correct, if not idiomatically ideal.
