    Default abbreviation of 'does'?

While I was reading a book I came across this:

'How's it feel?' ( does it mean: 'how does it feel?' ; Is 's the abbreviation of 'does'?)

Note that the written contraction is not used except in very informal writing, unless the writer is trying to suggest informal speech. I recommend that learners do not write it.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.

Yes, I agree. I should have said that.
