    Default Is this one correct?

"A new car is out of question. We can't afford it"

This is the fill in the blank type of exercise. I missed out on school that day and my friend told me this is the right answer. I feel that it should be out of the question but we are supposed to fill in 1 word only. Any idea?

If the answer involves 'question', then you are correct - it must be 'out of the question'.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.

No, you can fill anything you want in but you must fill in one word only. That's why I think the answer is wrong.

Does anyone else think that consideration could fit here? Can it be out of consideration in the sense that we are not considering the possibility?

It doesn't sound natural to me.

Nor to me. Only out of the question seems to fit well, though it doesn't fulfill the test requirements. I would say it's just a poor test question.
