"A new car is out of question. We can't afford it"
This is the fill in the blank type of exercise. I missed out on school that day and my friend told me this is the right answer. I feel that it should be out of the question but we are supposed to fill in 1 word only. Any idea?
If the answer involves 'question', then you are correct - it must be 'out of the question'.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
out of the question 100%
It doesn't sound natural to me.
