Please use correct English at all times.
I suppose that a person could lock himself into a prison if he had a key. This could also mean that a person could decide to believe in a certain thing, thus, shut himself away from other ideas or philosophies.

Maybe I'll show you the interview I'm taking about.

Here it is -> I'm not able to post links unfortunately, therefore i cannot show you excatly what I'm taking about (but, type in YouTube "Conan zach.galifianakis 2/3 best ep ever" and it's the second video from the top of the page, play it from 9:03 to 9:31)

I suppose in that situation it means that once you enter this city, it is so exciting that you cannot get out, ergo you locked yourself into it, am i wrong?

Your interpretation is reasonable, though it seemed to me that the cousin who said it meant it in a negative sense. In either case, it didn't seem to cause a great deal of laughter in the audience.

    Ok thanks guys!

Still I'm kind of keen on this expression, I just really like it! Lock yourself into the world's largest prison as it is so exciting and addictive that once you go there, you are not able to move somewhere else : )
