Teacher Re: Elegant That would depend on the speaker's opinion of the move. 'Nice' is a rather woolly word that can cover a range of ideas - including 'elegant'. You, as a national chess coach would know rather better than a linguist or teacher whether any chess move can be called 'perfect'.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
