Hello,
Is the passive tense the same for Present Continuous and Present Perfect Continuous?
For example:
Present continuous:
The food is being eaten
Present perfect continuous:
The food is beeing eaten
Thanks a lot
Sambo
The passive is a mood, not a tense.
Present continuous: The food is being eaten
Present perfect continuous: The food has been being eaten
We use the present perfect continuous passive form extremely rarely. We prefer either the active continuous or the the passsive non-continuous form.
Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
