    Default Is 'an' needed?

The Philippine government had earlier asked a court to order Mrs Arroyo, who has been charged with vote rigging, to be moved out of a hospital (and) into a police detention facility.

The original version has 'and'. Is 'and' needed?

    Thanks.

    No, it is redundant.
